Issues of differently abled people are known to all. A differently abled person requires right kind of environment, free mobility and acceptance by society. Government is working on their issues for long and created several acts to support them. Several organizations are also working towards this cause and do their share. However the dream of an inclusive society seems still far away. The problem is not easy to resolve as number of disabilities are growing and changing from time to time. Every differently abled person is unique in his own and hence cannot have solution in common.
Recently Government of India has listed 21 kinds of disabilities as against 7 listed earlier. Considering all these disabilities under one roof, finding out solutions correcting laws and their implementation seems beyond reach of Government alone. Therefore we need more number of NGOs to come up and help the Government towards this cause. They can play an important role, to streamline implementation of various supporting laws and to create a farther out reach to the people who really need the help and advice.
Make My Dream Foundation believes that issues of poor socio-economic differently abled people can be solved mainly through self-reliance. Even though Government has kept reservations in jobs, the needy should be able to reach those jobs. The fact is that many of our differently abled candidates are unaware or partially aware of the laws, guidelines and have limited exposure to media.. This deprives them of knowing the possibilities and getting opportunities. Self-reliance gives them confidence and improves quality and focus in life. Thus we are committed to work towards this direction.
The weaker socio-economic societies, where basic survival is the main objective, these special kids are brought up sometimes as liabilities and are living in dismal conditions with no confidence or ray of hope. We need to work at root level, to bring up the quality of life in these special children along with changing the mindset of their parents and the society.
Make My Dream Foundation therefore believes the best approach is to first bring in change in the attitude and behavior of these special children. We work with these special children, at their young age, when you can rebuild their confidence and guide them on a path of self-reliance. This also brings in hope for their parents, which slowly lead to transformation in their socio-economic condition and ultimately attitude of the society towards this issue.

Under this program, information about candidates under support and the required individual help (mainly for education, hostel and mess and conveyance) is assessed and shared with the probable donors. Each candidate has different needs and require distinctive donation amount. You can choose entire or partial assistance for any child. Progress of candidates is published annually through our newsletters / annual reports.
We accept donations for Corrective Surgery or Prosthetic Aid or Mobility Projects on ongoing basis. We have kept aside earmarked funds for these projects. Your amount of donation will either be top up in the fund or be used for specific child as per your wish.
