Library

Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.

Richard Steele

Reading is good for one’s mental health. It is a precious gift that parents could ever give to their child. Most of our candidates hail from a poor socio-economic background. They have lived in hostels since childhood for their education. Consequently, they were refrained from developing their reading skills.

The Foundation set up the library in January 2012 and now has a wide collection of over 600 books on varied subjects like philosophy, history, management, literature, autobiography, fiction, non-fiction, science etc.

We motivate candidates to use the library and read more and more books. There are volunteers who review their reading to increase their interest in reading. Even a small write up by candidates on a book is assessed to help them enhance their writing skills.

Library management is also done by these volunteers. One to one interaction with candidates increases their confidence in expressing various ideas.
