A Step Ahead
Adventure
Adventure as a Path to Empowerment
At Make My Dream Foundation, we recognize that physical disabilities often come with psychological barriers, including negativity and self-doubt. Many of the children we support initially struggle with these internal hurdles, which can be challenging to address directly. To overcome these barriers, we have devised a unique and empowering approach: adventure.
Breaking Down Barriers Through Adventure
Initially, our candidates were hesitant to use public transportation and engage in other everyday activities that many take for granted. They were overwhelmed by the prospect of managing daily life in a bustling city like Pune. To address these concerns, we introduced adventurous activities that would help them confront and overcome their fears.
Impact of Adventure on Personal Growth
The trekking expeditions were transformative for our candidates, as the physical challenges of climbing hills and forts helped them confront fears and build self-confidence. The joy and pride they experienced from these accomplishments were profound and enduring, leaving a lasting impact on their personal growth and development.
A Turning Point
The adventure program has been a turning point for many candidates, helping them overcome disabilities and realize their potential. Through physical and emotional victories, they gain resilience and optimism. Make My Dream Foundation empowers them to break limitations, building confidence, independence, and a broader perspective on life’s possibilities.
